“ If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything...and I'll be there to take advantage of that.” MAKKO
Nicknames: None Gender: Male Age: 5 years Species: African Lion Homeland: Vagrant Rank: N/A
Quick Description: Large brown lion, olive green eyes, deep brown mane Full Description: Makko is a large lion, slender but with a muscular build and large deep brown mane, the same as Bashir. His nose is thin, crooked and deep brown in coloration. On his nose are three claw marks from a female lioness he encountered as he attempted to take her as his own. His eyes are piercing, calculating; no one can ever truly tell what he's thinking except Bashir. They are olive green in color. His fur is brown except for his muzzle, eyelids, underbelly, toes and the insides of his ears. These are all cream in coloration, matching the majority of Bashir's coat.
Personality: Makko has devilish good looks with a personality to match. He is cunning, devious, intimidating, traitorous, and a force to be reckoned with. He is an ambitious lion with big goals and he is determined not to let anyone or anything get in his way. With that being said, Makko has no qualms about using force, deceit or foul play to get what he wants. When first meeting someone, especially females, he can be quite charming. But this facade is only temporary; he is dangerous and once his true intentions are revealed, it usually means trouble. He goes with the flow when he plays his roles but when things start to go downhill, he's quick to disappear with Bashir, leaving a path of complete mayhem behind them. Goals: Gain his own pride with his brother Bashir, possibly invade all of the other prides and find the lioness, Zora, who got away from him
History: Makko and his brother Bashir were born to the king and queen of a pride far to the west of the savannah, near the coast. Their mother was thought to be barren for years until they came along, so the two grew up quite spoiled and snobbish. However, their birth came at a time of famine for their pride. The heards were gone and their pride was dying, but the young cubs still were given the best of what the pride had to offer. The famine took a terrible toll on their family. Their parents argued constantly, their father blaming their mother for not hunting far or hard enough and their mother blaming their father for their dying pride because he refused to leave the land of his birth. The fights became violent, and eventually got so bad that one day their father blinded their mother. This greatly angered the cubs, for their mother loved them dearly and the more worse their land got the worse their father's temper became. He was not his normal kind, loving, and caring self, the one he was before the famine. So the angry and violent king was all Makko and Bashir knew and they hated him for it. They vowed to make him pay-and they did. When they were two years old, the brothers decided to kill their father. Little did they know he had finally conceded to their mother and planned to move the dying pride inland. The morning of the move, he sat upon a cliff overlooking the sea for the last time when Makko and Bashir ambushed him, suffocating him and tearing apart the old male's stomach. When their mother and aunts found out, they exiled the brothers in anger and mourned the loss of their beloved king.
After their exile, the brothers became even angrier. They traveled the lands, making another vow to themselves; they would gain a pride of their own and return to their homelands to reclaim them. After all, they were kings right? How dare their pride toss them out! After wandering around for a few years, Makko and Bashir separated while Bashir went to chase after some female. That was when Makko befriended a ruthless lion named Collide. They two formed a powerful coalition, causing chaos in their wake. One day they happened upon a young brown lioness, who Makko decided would be fit to be his queen. They attacked the poor lioness; however, she struck back, cutting Makko on his muzzle. He was angered when she didn't submit and he and Collide chased her to the edge of the steep river bank. He knew that she would be forced to hand back to solid ground or face drowning by the crocodiles. But two lions, one a large gold male, saved her and Makko and Collide knew that even with both of them it would be a hard fight for one weak lioness. Makko would have her another day. The two ran off and eventually separated; after that, Makko was reunited with his brother after his failed attempt at claiming his own lioness. The two have been roaming the savannah ever since.
