Welcome to the Dawning of a New Era, a literate and active Lion King & Kimba the White Lion roleplaying forum.
Era is a welcoming community with a fun atmosphere and we'd love for you to join our pride. There are many opportunities for members to play canons as well as have their original characters in high ranking positions.
July 8 2011 » I've been working on updating the site as much as possible. Most of the high positions will be opened, and many of the taken canons probably will too. Members are encouraged to start roleplaying again!
July 5 2011 » Alright, I decided that we should at least try a revival. I'm gonna clean up everything, I'm gonna work on the layouts for many of the official threads (rules, canons, etc). I might update the profile format also. Most of the high positions will probably be opened, and we'll finally be starting that awesometastic plot that we were supposed to start before. Don't let scar rule the pridelands, it's time for the Dawning of a New Era!

This is where it call begins. The Circle of Life keeps turning. This is where you can come to create a character, copy and paste the character profile template and fill it out to create your character. Characters must be approved by a staff member before roleplaying is permitted on the boards.
Spice up your character's life. If you think your character is a bit incomplete, coming here may help to fix that. Adoptables, want ads, looking-for's, whatever your character needs, you can post a thread telling us what you think you're looking for for your character.
This is where all threads keeping track of who plays who and what the different prides' relationships are. In here, you'll find descriptions of what the prides are typically known for, and which prides are at war.
Are you and someone else's character going to have cubs? Well, here's where you need to post before your characters can become parents. Only one parent is required to post, but both may post in the same thread.
So, you're finding it difficult to keep track of all your characters? Well, here's where you can start a thread to post information about all of your beloved characters. Only one thread per member, please.
A vast expanse of very rich land. The Grasslands offer both sunshine and shade, as well as being perfectly able to provide food for many, many mouths. The Grasslands are a massive ecosystem where thousands of creatures of varying species are proud to call home. It is ruled by one pride, but there is much room for others who live under the rule of the king. The Grasslands are often referred to as the Pridelands.
A territory cast in eternal darkness, and difficult to survive in. The Badlands are a hostile environment, and its inhabitants often share its nature. Cubs from prides who reside outside of the Badlands refer to the Badlands as 'that shadowy place', and parents often tell forbid them from venturing there. The Badlands are infested with termites, and unless you enjoy eating insects, the Badlands present a very large challenge to the living: survival. The Badlands are most often referred to as the Outlands or the Shadowlands.
The Vinelands are often referred to as 'the Jungle'. The territory is lush and extremely dense. The Vinelands are cool and dark, perfect for relaxing after a long day in the harsh sunlight. There are various ponds and pools hidden in the dense undergrowth, making the Vinelands are a very beautiful location to live. The Vinelands is more than capable of supporting many creatures at one time.
The Drylands are commonly called 'the Desert'. The land is hostile, and is very difficult to survive in. There is almost no vegetation, for plants can't grow in sand, and therefore there is little shade and little prey. However, there are many high points, making the territory very easy to defend against interlopers, although outsiders usually do not know about the hunting areas or oasis, and pass the territory by in as little time as they can. The sand is hot under your paws, so try to keep to the shade of the sand dunes.
The Oldlands are home to an ancient feline dynasty, so ancient that they have a family shrine. The territory has earned the title of the 'Paradise Kingdom' because for anyone not familiar with the area, it is paradise. Those creatures who call the Oldlands home know that the Oldlands are nothing like Paradise, but they often will call the jungle territory by it's most commonly used nickname, usually to laugh at the irony of it.
The Highlands are a last expanse of territory covering a mountain-like hill. There is a permanent fog that covers the entire territory, giving it's inhabitants stealth more easily, which makes hunting easier. However, the fog also make prey more difficult to scent. The Highlands are not a territory that you can simply walk through. Half of the territory's borders are sheer cliffs. The territory has many cliffs and ledges, so everyone, especially interlopers need to watch where they step.
The Lowlands start at the lowest part of the Highlands territory. The Lowlands is a massive valley. It's a floodplain, so in most seasons, most of the territory is marshy and boggy or completely flooded. Paws and hooves are easily sucked into the sticky brown mud, and can be difficult to get out. The mud makes prey easy to track, but harder to catch, because the combination of running and mud presents a difficult challenge for anyone. Higher ground is difficult to find, but it does exist within Lowlands borders. Vacant higher ground is difficult to find.
The Free lands. Lands that are claimed by no pride. Vagrants and those driven out of their prides often find their ways here. Some claim small stretches of the neutral territory for their own, but the lands are unable to support an entire pride, and the lands are difficult for an individual to hold for very long. The Sacred Lands are neutral territory.
