[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] A small outcrop in the land made the wind that swept across the flat landscape increase over the plateau. She stood there, surveying it all. Every minuscule detail was taken into her sight and she saw the clouds in the distances fade into the horizon. From where she stood, the clouds seemed very close indeed. She felt as if she could reach up and touch the floating, fluffy white and leave marks from her iron-like claws.
I could gouge the heavens if I did please.
A sudden urge surged through her as the wind swept past her and whipped her short, creamy fur. She expanded her wide jaws and exposed her sharp white teeth that acted as a mouth full of daggers. She unleashed a commanding roar and soared over the Highlands and echoed far past its boundaries. When she closed her maw, her call still left ringing in her ears. The expression left her shoulders more straight and her head held high.
She defied it, everything. She defied everyone that stood on the earth she did, and beyond. She was free, and to remain so.

[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] She still surveyed the vast, flat lands that stood before her when she smelt a scent that was still far off. Obviously male, the scent was that that she had come across already in this territory, only once.
Whoever he is, he belongs here, her thoughts recollected, as do I.
He strode up to her, with evident poise and confidence. She held back a smirk. He, almost scarily, smirked as well, but the expression was gone from his visage as quickly as it had come. His mane was voluminous and his tan fur was gloriously refreshing to her, she who had stared at sandy coats all her life. His voice was suave, luring, as he spoke, "Hello." A simple enough statement. "I'm Maliki. And you are?"
"I am one that you have not seen the likes of, Maliki." She stood and padded behind him, brushing her side against him and having her tail trail behind her. "I am the healing and the wounding, I am the blessing and the curse," She continued around him until she stood in front of him again, and locked her blue-green eyes with his. "I am love and heartbreak," she sat in front of him, eyes still locked.

[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] His words, still as cool, confident, and alluring as ever, sent the tips of her ears tingling and her tail curling with pleasure.
"Welcome, Apocalypse, to my home. It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance." His emphasis on 'pleasure' caused a glint of malicious amusement to appear in her eyes. "I am the King of these lands, and I invite you to stay with my pride for as long as you wish."
She almost chortled with entertainment. King Maliki believed he could earn her loyalty by mentioning he was king. Ha! I'm not so ambitious for power as other things I have deemed important! Still, his invitation to remain in the Highlands was hard to resist, but even harder to resist was the stare he fixed upon her. He studied her every muscle, her facial complexion, and every other aspect of her body. His gaze wasn't scrutinizing, to her it was caressing even though their pelts didn't brush.
But, oh, how much she would have loved to!
A sort of pull existed between them which seemed to want to draw her pelt toward his in a 'loving' embrace. Although, 'love' was as much a foreign term to her was was 'kind' and 'charity.'
"King Maliki," she slid her head under his chin and brushed the side of her head against his chest, "I believe the both of us have more than acquaintanceship on our minds." She didn't draw away. She knew she should have, but couldn't bring herself to do it. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"

[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] His paw was warm against hers, a familiar gesture to her. Because her head was against the brown mane that clung to his chest, she felt the rumbling before she heard it. His purr gave her great pleasure.
"Apocalypse, foreign beauty."
His purring had caused his voice to become warm, which was most welcoming to her. His comments on her beauty were also welcome.
"If we want to get to know each other, out in the middle of the Highlands is not the best place to get acquainted. Perhaps a more private location would be better?" Again, the word 'acquainted' was used, but once she noticed it she ignored it.
Maliki's desire for a private location could mean one of two things; One, Maliki indeed cared for both of their privacy or Two, the King of the Highlands was hiding something. She wasn't about to outright ask him, so she decided to go along with whatever he had in mind.
"Any location is fine with me, but so long as you're there..." She rubbed her cheek against his and withdrew from his embrace, "I am content." Her blue-green eyes met his again as she waited for him to lead her where he would be more comfortable. Why he was uncomfortable, she intended to find out later. [glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] Maliki turned his head toward his kingdom, searching the hills and valleys for somewhere where their... excursion would be more private.
Anticipation radiated from her. She hadn't been with a lion as promising as Maliki in so long a while, that she almost forgot what it felt like. She intended to remember, or make some new memories with this king. The empowerment she had felt before returned, and she yearned to call out to the Highlands that she was there, and to challenge any and all.
I've got a great place to show you," he started. As he looked back at her, he smiled. His smile paled next to the twinkle she saw in his eyes.
"It's rumored that some kind of very aggressive, bald ape once lived there, but they've been gone for generations now, and never been back since. However, where they lived is still quite fascinating."
'Fascinating' to her was quite different than fascinating to him, she was sure. Still, her curiosity was great. She nodded, and her tail curled over her back. Waiting wasn't usually her style, but she waited. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"

[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] The High King's various gestures and his eventual words were a blur to her. His mouth just moved and flashed teeth, she heard no sound. She usually wasn't so affected by anyone, but she convinced herself that it had to happen eventually. So long as she remained in control of herself, why not now?
His final gesture, in some odd direction, did register somewhere in her brain. She nodded and began walking in the general direction. Her tail lashed to and fro as she padded quietly. She was oblivious to her surroundings. Except for a strange buzzing in her ears, she heard nothing. To recap, her senses were successfully dulled. She neither heard, smelt, nor felt. She seemed to lock herself up in her mind, alone with her thoughts. Of course, there were none, so Maliki had taken all her being away for a short time it seemed.
When she finally regained her control, as well as her senses, she traversed to the place he has described, the former home of a bald ape.
