[glow=white,2,300]EUPE[/glow] The River twisted around in tight curves with differing deepness and width. It seemed as if a long snake, tainted green with fertility, wove its way across the entire Oldlands. It was the same now as it had been when Kimba had reigned. And now, his granddaughter stood in the same place he had so long ago. One would have thought Kimba himself had risen again to walk his kingdom, but had left his mane in his grave. In a way, he had. She felt him inside of her, guiding her thoughts and footsteps and bolstering her strength and courage. This is why rulers are so great. The spirits of their ancestors work miracles through them. Eupe's miracle was standing just as Kimba had many years ago, her posture and paw placing exactly as he had been. She lifted up her paw and saw her paw-print embedded in the river stones. For a moment, she saw another print of a larger paw that seemed to outline hers. It was gone so fast that she would have convinced herself it had never been, but she was faithful to her senses and to her heart.
She just wished she knew where her footprints lead.
Her whole life she was royalty, a princess, but now she was Queen. Being Queen felt no different from being a princess. When would she know what she felt like? She knew she was Queen, but she didn't feel like Queen. She felt Kimba inside of her, but that didn't mean that's what she was.
What I am. Her thoughts were solemn. She stared back at her reflection in the fast-paced water. She saw white fur, blue eyes, a gray stripe, a red nose, but she couldn't see what she was.
"When will my reflection show..." A fish swam under her visage and splashed away her reflection. She grimaced, "who I am inside." As the water rushed past, the trees swayed with the light breeze that blew threw the Oldlands that day. Some creatures were out by the river, taking a small drink before turning and retreating back into the cover of the jungle. It seemed as if no one wanted to be out roaming around today. Well, maybe not everyone that is. Padding through the forest with her nose held high was Princess Zuri, her tail held high and her head up as she walked with a 'regal' stature. She was having so much fun, for earlier that day she had caused more trouble for Ali because she had 'accidentally' forgotton to bury the best gazelle she and Ali had every caught. Yes, she knew it cost them food, but it always made her laugh to see her brother when he angry. Lost in her own thoughts of mischeif, she padded out of the cover of the foilage and over to the river to drink. After satisfying her thirst, is was then that she had noticed her mother. At first, Zuri shyed away, hoping she hadn't noticed her incase she had heard about the gazelle incident, but than she noticed her mother looked sad. Shaking off her fears, Zuri slowly padded over to the white lioness. "Mother? Are you alright?"

[glow=white,2,300]EUPE[/glow] She was lost in herself, once again. It seemed to her that she always had some question about who she was and what she was doing. She still stood ankle-high in frigid river water, looking down at her reflection and contemplating her... everything. From the plant life a short distance from the shoreline, Zuri's high voice sounded.
"Mother, are you alright?"
She grimaced, not wanting to tell a lie to her beloved daughter and not wanting to worry her daughter about problems that had nothing to do with her. She took in breath and sighed. She closed her azure eyes and turned her head away from the river. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"

Zuri padded over so that she now sat next to her mother, and she gently leaned against her, giving a small shove as she did. She hoped that this would shake her mother enough to answer so that she could find out what was wrong. "Mother....please. What's wrong?" Zuri tried again, hoping to get the answer so that she could help her mother in anyway that she migh need it. Zuri's small white tail flicked for a few seconds before coming forward to curl around her small white paws.

[glow=white,2,300]EUPE[/glow] "Mother... please, what's wrong?"
She blinked twice and looked down at Zuri, who rubbed herself against her leg. She smiled and lowered herself into the water so that her head was next to Zuri's. She licked Zuri between her eyes, scattering the white tuft that hung there.
"What could be wrong? I have a wonderful, beautiful daughter and magnificent son." She rubbed her cheek against the Oldland Princess'. She looked deep into her daughter's violet eyes and spoke with utmost sincerity, "Nothing is amiss." Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"
