Sun was a friend today as was the warm light that spread through the antelope herd just a few hundred yards from the female. The warm air had everything relaxing, muscles unclenched and the herd relaxed in the warm sunny afternoon. But there was one creature that refused to relax and she was ready to take out her fustration on the unsuspecting female antelope just a few more feet infront of her. Black claws were unsheathed and they dug into the earth, feeling the cool dirt shift softly under them. With a flick of her tail and a push of her powerful back haunches Vitani launched herself at the antelope, a roar of pride and anger releasing from her throat as her claws dug into the soft antelopes hide. Her teeth sunk into the slim neck and with a quick snap the female deer fell silent and still.
Vitani hefted herself up off her haunches to stretch any muscle that could have pulled or become sore in her assault. A yawn escaped her maw as teeth shiny with new blood twinkled off the sun light. Her brilliant blue eyes twinkled with pleasure as she feasted on her own little snack. Earlier that day she had been lounging at Pride rock when a few cubs came to play with her. Vitani had grown accostumed to them but her play was far different than thiers. She encouraged them to go play together but couldn't help feeling the stares of the mothers, each with suspicion laced within warm stares. Vitani didn't feel right here, it didn't seem like this was her home any more than the Outlands had. Truly she felt grateful to Simba for allowing them to come into his lands again, but would the feeling of being an Outsider forever come between the pride and herself?

[glow=yellow,2,300]KALA[/glow] She rose, stretching out her haunches and front legs. Her thorn-like claws slid out of their sockets in the pleasure of awakening, then retracted as she straightened herself. She shook out her fur and lifted her head, smelling the crisp morning air and bathing in the sun's morning light. In the distance, she saw Pride Rock's form. She smiled. A night away from the politics and creeping claustrophobia was good for her.
She hopped down from the rock that overlooked at small pool of crystal water. The rock was somewhat shaded by a wiry baobab tree in close proximity. (Refer to picture for visual) She had named this spot her 'Oasis.' She strode through the shallow pool and up the small incline. She preceded to trot leisurely over the Pridelands. She was the only one awake at this hour, so she needn't hurry anywhere.
She had every intention of trotting of to the watering hole for exchanged pleasantries with any creature she could find, but she gravitated toward the hunting plains, or the Savannah. When she arrived, the sun had risen further and she estimated it to be about midday. The flat Savannah in front of her, she saw a sandy pelt in the distance. No telling from this distance what pride the pelt belonged to, she pranced forward for further investigations. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"

Vitani had finished off the gazelle and was laying on her side with a satisfied purr in her chest and her tail flicking lightly on the ground. Her blue eyes were closed and she had a light smile on her face as the sun beat down on her body. Her golden fur gave her warmth in the sun and she opened her mouth to yawn, her ears going back to catch the sounds of an approaching creature. Curious she hefted herself into a sitting position and watched as the feline approached her. It was Kala, the black lioness that had been exiled by Scar when she was just a tiny cub. Vitani's ears twitched back, uncertain about how Kala would react to her. Vitani hadn't really had alone time with alot of the lioness at pride rock, perhaps Nala or Kiara but that was it. She wasn't sure how Kala would react to her because of what her mother and adoptive father had done to Kala.
Vitani let an uneasy smile grace her face, it looked more like a smirk as Vitani's uneasyness was hard to show. She stood up, feeling safer with her back away from Kala and on her feet incase something would happen. "Kala, it's nice to see you out here" She glanced at her kill, there was still some left. "I was hunting earlier, if your hungry." She asked lamely, trying to find something to keep the peace between the two. Vitani shifted her wieght, her aggressive posture more habit than anything and she looked at Kala, curious as to how she would react.

[glow=yellow,2,300]KALA[/glow] It was Vitani, the adopted daughter of Taka himself. Her body growled at their proximity (without physically growling), but her mind wouldn't allow it. Starting rivalries within the pride was not what she had in mind. She felt rage at her face, the face she had connected with Taka's family. Reason told her that it was no fault of Vitani's that she was related to her evil step-father. Those two things battled within her: Rage and Reason, both unwilling to give an inch. She waited, deciding to give both sides a chance to overcome the other.
Vitani stood, shifting her position so she could protect and defend, unwilling to give Kala a chance to attack. Rage gained ground or her mental battlefield. "Kala, it's nice to see you out here." Rage took several steps forward, regarding the conversation-starter as more of a sarcastic comment. Vitani glanced at the meager remains of her kill. "I was hunting earlier, if you're hungry." With one final glance at Vitani's aggressive stance, Rage took over. Reason had no attempt at retaliation.
She replied calmly at first. "No, I am not going to bend over," her voice grew steadily more angry, "that piece of meager prey so you can snap my neck and finish the work your father started!" Her voice had grown steadily more furious until the last word, when she was practically roaring with fury. At every stressed syllable, her jaw tightened and her claws unfurled. She hissed with fury and past pain. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"

For a moment Vitani thought that Kala was politely declining and was preparing to invite her to lounge, or atleast politely part ways. But the words that followed had Vitani's eyes widening and jaw dropping in shock. Out of no where the feline infront of her snarled out words that she had no knowledge of, such as Scar being her father. A sudden hissing snarl passed through Vitani's maw until she roared at Kala just as loud as Kala roared at her. "And who do you think you are?" She hissed out, her claws flicking out and white teeth gleaming as she snarled. "You did not know my father" She hissed, Kala did not know who Vitani's father was because Vitani herself did not know.
She picked a paw up, taking a few steps before swiping at Kala. Vitani's temper flared and it was way to easy to fall back into the viscious outlander view. "Come here Kala, if your so eager for me to finish what my father started" She roared at the lioness, unable to contain her sudden rage at being thrusted into the position of the whelp of a horrid lion. Of being an abomination.

[glow=yellow,2,300]KALA[/glow] Kala sighed and sat down, instantly relaxing.
"You're not half bad, Vitani."
She looked down at her paws and lifted her left up to her mouth. She groomed the dirt and grime out from between her toes with her rough, pink tongue. "I have problems thinking before I speak. Now I realize you were never Taka's daughter." She paused in her grooming and glanced up at Vitani. "I'm sorry."
After her apology, she switched her tongue to her right paw and steadily cleaned dry leaves and such from her right paw. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"
