[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] Where else could she go but elsewhere?
Maliki was entertaining, but it was short-lived. She tolerated his game-play because of his experience. Toleration itself was short-lived, even with her own experience. She refused to stay cooped up in Maliki's arms for more than she could stand. For the moment, she could stand it no longer. That just wasn't her way. She was born a vagrant and would die one. If she had her way, death was leagues beyond her present state. Her present state was a serene one, for a change. She often just stood out where everything was neutral and looked down. She liked looking down, she got more pity that way.
Haha. Like I need pity. She scoffed to herself. Pity the imperfect. She stood tall. She was perfect.
Light, dusty paw prints were left in her midst as she slowly cantered over the dehydrated plain. No water in sight.
Eh. I lived this way before I can live this way again before I return. The only reason she would return is the way the Highlanders treated her. They gave her three meals a day, two more than she ever got in a span of five days. Life was good there. Maybe that's what she had been searching for, a better life. Although there were two things there that she wanted nothing to do with.
One, a mate. Two, a family. She hated family and family hated her. It had been so long since she had a family that she forgot what it felt like to be loved. She still didn't know what it was like to be loved. Maliki didn't love her, but she didn't want him to. All she felt was lust, but that was good enough for her. She had every intention of returning to the Highlands, eating another couple of meals, and then running over to Kazabu and testing out his pride's hospitality.
She liked playing with others' feelings. And she was good at it. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"OOC:: Sorry, there's really no action in this post. It's just a collection of thoughts that have occurred to her in the big gap of my RP with her.

It was a little while after the Gathering, and Jiraa found herself tired of seeing her Highlands home. It was dreary, with all the rain, and brought her mood down substantially. She often wondered if it was the weather, the memory of her parents, or if she was developing bipolar disorder. Either way, the change of scenery had helped slightly.
She wouldn't dare wander into another pride's territory, considering she would fiercely guard her own, so here she was, in neutral lands. She had decided to walk around a bit after there Gathering, and had lingered here instead of heading home with Maliki and Arra. She thought that she might find some alone time. Then the wind changed, and her nose twitched with the scent of another. So much for that, she thought, her face already twisting into a scowl. It wasn't because she was alone. She had recognized the scent as familiar.
She decided to lay down and wait it out. If this loner female passed by her, then she was perfectly fine with that. She recognized the female as one of Maliki's, one of his secret girlfriends that he thought he could hide from the others. Jiraa knew him though, having grown up with him. He was horrible at hiding things. Even Arra knew, she was sure, and she was younger than they. She shook her head, and laid it down on her paws. Nothing to do but wait and see what happened.

[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] Jiraa's scent stuck out like a sore thumb. She may be away from the Highlands, but her Highlanders scent was all too obvious out here. Although she herself had lived with the Highlanders for some time, she smelt nothing like them. Her foreign scent and aura still hung about her.
She walked smugly up to Jiraa, knowing how closely Jiraa had watched Apocalypse when she was with Maliki. Jiraa was far from an open book, but Apocalypse was an expert at 'reading'. This was one of her most prized talents. "Well hello, Jiraa." Her eyes glinted. "I see we both have excused ourselves from the pride for awhile." She circled Jiraa, smirking. "I don't blame you. Maliki just seems a little busy lately."
That outta do it. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"

Jiraa couldn't help but let her fur bristle as Apocalypse inevitably found her. She put on a look of disgust, because really, that's how she felt about this female. Disgusted. Her nose twisted up and her eyes narrowed like she smelled something that had been decaying in the sun too long. She stood up instantly, her body tense, ready for action if need be.
"How...nice to see you Apocalypse." But not really. She would rather go swimming in the Crocodile River than deal with the seductress. An easy escape was no longer possible. It seemed she would have to throw a few sarcastic quips before her day got any better. "I didn't take a vacation to get away from him. Even if I did, it's as you said. He has other business to attend to. Much more important than you and I." Of course, she had no romantic feelings for Maliki whatsoever, but she didn't like Apocalypse's haughty nature. Jiraa had no doubt that she knew about Maliki's little harem, but she decided to portray the fact that Apocalypse might not be the best thing he'd ever had. Or that she was some kind of prize. As far as Jiraa was concerned, this female was beneath her and her pride, no matter their faults. Now maybe she'd go away and Jiraa could get a real "vacation" from her home.

[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] "How nice to see you, Apocalypse." Check. And. Mate.
"He has other business to attend to, much more important than you and I." She let loose an amused chuckle. What an amateur. This Jiraa child had no idea who she was dealing with.
She smiled at Jiraa, a quirky smile with no actual joy in it, just smugness. "Jiraa, honey." She stepped in front of the Highlander, her face a claw-length away from Jiraa's. "Don't get involved. This is my game." She whispered her final threat through bared canines, "I'm the Queen. You're the pawn." Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"

Apocalypse came so close, Jiraa almost snapped. However, in an amazing show of self control, she managed a smile that was deadly sweet. "I wouldn't think so highly of myself if I were you, hun. Last time I checked, Queens carried themselves with dignity. But you? Please. You're just Maliki's, and whoever else's, leftovers. I am not, nor will I ever be, a pawn for the likes of you.[/color]"
With that, she stood up, making the space between them even closer than it had been. The tension was so thick, it seemed like a simple leaf falling to the ground would break it. The thought crossed her mind that maybe Maliki wouldn't find Apocalypse so tempting if her face was marred. Then again, why should she care if he ruined his life with vagrant trash? Rathering than turning around to walk away, she backed up slightly. As the saying goes, never turn your back on a lion.
Her green eyes were narrowed, nothing but cold hatred in them. She wanted to smack the smugness off of Apocalypse's face. Her posture was stiff, aggressive. She could feel a growl in her throat, but none of her inner emotions, except her extreme dislike of the lioness in front of her, were portrayed on her face.[/size]

[glow=blue,2,300]APOCALYPSE[/glow] "... Nor will I ever be..." The thought struck her.
She's jealous. Ha! Jiraa is jealous.
She smirked, visibly showing her cocky white fangs that glinted maliciously in the bright sunlight. This little lioness was on the verge of pouncing, but Apocalypse didn't like the way things had panned out.
"Put 'em away, Jir." Her eyes were slowly mutating to the blue-green of in-between that her emotions kicked in. Like her fangs, her eyes shed a little malicious glint that challenged the tiny female. "I don't bother myself with petty fights such as this." She bowed mockingly to the Highlander and, with her neck still prostrate and head still tilted so she could see her, backed away. Once she was at a decent distance, she turned a walked leisurely back toward the Highlands. Nay, she walked toward her new home.
Her actions showed no sign of return, but she wished very badly for Jiraa to throw her a tantrum-worthy comment so she could sink her claws into flesh. How much she wanted to taste her flesh. Legend: Thoughts "My words" "Others' words"

Jiraa showed no fear of the pale lioness as she stood. Her eyes showed as much malicious intent as Apocalypse’s, but Jiraa was sure this female, though slightly larger, could harm her. Jiraa was all muscle, and at this point, all anger too. Her emerald pools darkened, and a low, guttural growl rose within her.
I don’t bother myself with petty fights such as this[/b]. Jiraa snorted and practically laughed in the lioness’s face. “If you don’t fight, why mess with my pride? Are you honestly that stupid? Just because you gave Maliki a fun one night romp, doesn’t make you one of us. He’s one lion-we lionesses are the pride. What makes you believe you’re so high and mighty that you can drag your trash into our home, and expect to walk around unscathed?[/color]” She shook her head, a dark laugh emanating from inside her.
As Apocalypse backed away, eventually turning around, Jiraa thought about attacking her, sinking her teeth into her neck. But then a surprise attack wouldn’t be a fair fight. Then again, nothing in life was fair. “You’re pathetic,” she called out after the retreating body. She recognized the direction Apocalypse was going-it was her homeland. Probably going to run and cry to Maliki and try to drown herself in his paws. “If you really think you’re worthy of my home and ruler, then come back and prove it.[/color]”
All her thoughts were now focused on Apocalypse. Thoughts of Maliki left her head; she was defending her pride now, her physical and mental one. She wouldn’t let this vagrant scum waltz in and act like she belonged, and a victory now would probably prevent later conflict, though she doubted that. Jiraa was on edge once again, and every fiber of her being said to take it out on Apocalypse.[/size]
