Vianna
On her relaxed mid-day stroll, Vianna was sniffing the little amount of flowers that had yet survived the drought. It wouldn't be long before those little blue and yellow and purple dots would become dark and rotten like all the others, but for now, Vianna enjoyed seeing their scarce beauty. Only flowers like that could capture an amazing moment, they were silent witnesses of the many miracles that happened in the world. Vianna snorted and twitched with her tail impatiently to chase away the many flies that had gathered around her, clinging to her short golden fur like it was their last hope. And it probably was, because there hardly was any food left for the little insects around the Vinelands. When she'd chased the flies away, she continued her way on the dense path, shielded by the canopy of thick bushes and large trees with their overflowing amount of leaves.
The heat was becoming quite uncomfortable around this hour: it was buzzing into her ears - no, that were the flies buzzing there - and she felt a little dizzy. She'd need to make her way to the waterfall pretty soon to get some drops of water into her body. She hadn't drank for a day now, and with the drought around here, she doubted she'd last any longer without any water or fluid into her system. Who knew, maybe she could go hunting in the evening and catch a vivid, watery prey that had only just drank from the watering hole. She'd have to keep that in the back of her mind, for later times. Right now she was just trying to cool off. And though she'd seemed so interested in the beauty of the foliage around her only minutes ago, now she appeared as if she couldn't care less about the things happening in and around her surrounding. She was acting careless, and she was, she had nobody to be responsible to and she had nothing to do today.
Nobody to obey, until she would have to talk to that guy's parents. Kijano or something, was the male called that she was going to be married to in later times. All she knew was that he was the prince, the heir, and that she herself didn't have any ambitions to a position like that whatsoever. But her dear mother - dear in a sarcastic way - had had other plans, of course. What she'd wanted, she'd never got, so now her daughter had to fulfill her dream - gain a position she couldn't even dream about. She wasn't happy about this arranged marriage.
It was only another problem in her life she'd have to deal with. Preferably later than sooner, if the choice was hers. She didn't want to get married at all, love had proved it's disloyalty to her. It was only a fairy tale after all. Love had betrayed her like no other thing in life would ever be able to. And she could never take revenge for that betrayal, because he was living in the Outlands now. Or, well, that was what she assumed. The last time she'd seen Gabriel was... she squinted her eyes while she casually waved away the thoughts, chasing them off more violently than she'd intended to. But she couldn't think about that now... it would remind her too much of the unwilling marriage she was going to be thrown in in the future. Hopefully it wouldn't be in the near future.
Hopefully Kijano or whatever he was called, would either die before the 'ceremony' or he would meet somebody else who his parents would approve. They'd probably chosen her because of her bitterness. she had nothing to lose, so she would be the perfect queen. Defending the pride because she'd think it was her duty, something she had to do in an attempt to make something out of her god-forsaken life... The only problem was that she knew the truth: she would never make something out of this life. In her eyes, it had ended long ago, leaving her with the shadow of the pain and heartache Gabriel had left her with...
