NALA
Nicknames: N/A[/blockquote]
Gender: Female
Age: 10 years old
Species: Lion
Homeland: Pridelands
Rank: Queen of the Pridelands
Quick Description: A tan coloured lioness with piercing blue eyes.
Full Description: Nala is a tan coloured lioness and has an elegant physique that adds to her feminine appeal. Her eyes are also shaped differently from the other lionesses, just a little more tilted at an angle that compliments her nose well and are a beautiful and piercing shade of blue. Her eyelids and the area around her eyes up to her brow bone, as well as her muzzle, and the area at the front of her neck extending down to her belly are creamy beige. Her nose, eye brows, inner ears, paw pads and the hair at the end of her tail are brown.
Being a huntress her body is very toned and her claws and teeth sharp. As a cub she is fond of her baths and this cleanliness continues into adulthood as her fur is always well groomed. She is the Pridelands strongest lioness, thus an appropriate leader of the hunting party as well.
Personality: From a young age Nala's outspoken nature and curiosity contrast her mother's more reserved nature. She is brave and like her best friend Simba always ready to join him on the next adventure. She also isn't a pushover, especially when she's right. It's this trait that leads to her pinning Simba both times when he challenges her and tries to outmatch her in strength.
She maintains these traits into adulthood, though becomes more cautious as age and maturity brings responsibility and wisdom. She still remains steadfast with her beliefs and when it comes to those she loves is willing to fight to protect them at all costs. As Queen she is supportive to her King, and a true partner to him throughout any challenge that may arise. As a mother her already loving nature is only multiplied, as is her resolve to always keep her daughter and her Pride safe.
Goals: To be a strong Queen for the Pridelands and an excellent role model for her daughter.
History: Born to Sarafina around the same time Queen Sarabi and King Mufasa bring their son, Simba, into the world, the two grow together and eventually become best friends. Like the young prince, Nala is also curious and always willing to accompany Simba on his adventures for the thrill of it all. Destined to one day become a great huntress, even at a young age she is seen to possess some of these traits, occasionally pinning Simba playfully whenever he challenged her.
Her most dangerous 'adventure' with her best friend was to the Elephant's Graveyard beyond the borders of the Prideland and although rescued from the Hyena's by King Mufasa, Nala had no idea that it would also be the last of their adventures...
The following day Nala was expecting that she and Simba would be planing their next big adventure, making sure it was hopefully not as dangerous as the last, but instead the Pride received news of King Mufasa and Prince Simba's death in a stampede. It seemed like in the blink of an eye, she'd lost her best friend forever.
But life had to go on. As much as she missed her friend in the days that followed, especially with the Pridelands becoming a nightmare to dwell in with the hyenas living there as well, Nala started to focus on improving her huntress skills. As an adult she is an expert huntress and as she continued to grow stronger physically, so did her resolve to leave and find help to restore her home to its former glory. In doing so she came across her best friend Simba, whom she'd been forced to accept had died in the stampede that killed King Mufasa and with their reunion the two fell in love.
After fighting beside him to return the Pridelands to its rightful King, she now serves alongside him as the Queen of the Pridelands. She brought forth a son, Kopa, who disappears shortly after and leaves her distraught for some time. It isn't until the birth of their daughter, Kiara, that she is able to really heal. Still, she will always have a place in her heart for her lost son. Proud of the young lioness her daughter matures into, she is the first one supportive of her relationship with the Outlander and Scar's supposed heir, Kovu. This is mainly because she trusts her daughter's judgment and in her ability to see the good in anyone. Now that Simba has accepted him into the Pridelands, she helps to mold the young couple as they are the Pridelands future King and Queen.

A soft sigh was the only indication to anyone watching that the lioness was in fact awake as she lay by the lake's edge. For whatever reason she'd been unable to sleep that night, thus the lake was chosen as her peaceful place of solitude away from her pride and her Love. She wasn't sure how long it had been since she and the other lionesses left the Pridelands to find help and discovered that Simba was alive, but that day had been a turning point in her life. Her best friend was back, but more importantly now that both were mature, the existence of romantic feelings both held for each other couldn't be denied. But Simba was no longer the young cub who 'couldn't wait to be King'. Mufasa's death and then the time he spent growing up away from the Pridelands changed him.
Maybe that's why I can't sleep.
The thoughts brought yet another sigh. He was destined for so much more than he was choosing to settle for. Why couldn't he see that? And as someone that cared about him as much as she did, was she supposed to support his decision as much as she disagreed with it? The lioness shook her head before glancing into the water at her reflection. Whatever she did needed to remain true to her character, even if it upset him. The simple truth was...
"We need to go back."
