quick description - A handsome lion with crimson eyes, dark red mane, and strange markings on his body.
full description - Faraji isn't what you would call muscular, but he does have enough to hold his own in a fight. His body is long and thin, but not too thin. He has a face most girls would fall for; the slightly feminine kind with smooth features. His crimson mane is full and shaggy, with bangs on either side of his face. A little goatee grows from his chin. Small tufts of tawny fur grow on his forelegs. Soft red eyes personify his gentle personality.
What to others may seem like birthmarks, Faraji's former pride thought of as a symbol of monarchy. Small spots slightly darker than his tawny fur run up the bridge of his nose and across his forehead. Similar spots are found on his paws in the shape of an X and on his ears. There once were some on his thighs, but they faded as he grew up.
personality - Faraji was raised by Paki, the most cunning and manipulative king his former pride had ever seen. So it was natural that Paki would teach Faraji to be manipulative and cunning. With his ego inflated because of his position, Faraji actually made himself believe he as the power of clairvoyance.
His calm nature helps him face tough situations with a cool head and clear thoughts. Besides, who would want a king that rages at every little dilemma? It especially helps him when gives speeches and predicting the future. Facing a crowd full of misinformed, desperate lions is no easy task without patience, as Paki once explained to him.
His devotion to his pride and helping them had driven him to venture away and help the world with his 'predictions'. He believed that if others were warned about a possible outcome of the future, they could better prepare themselves. But everyone knows the future changes, which is why his predictions are usually vague and broad.
history - Faraji was born into a small, isolated pride who lived on the edges of the Grasslands. Their presence was a mystery to all, and rumors spread that they had supernatural powers, including the power of clairvoyance. Of course, they were just that. Rumors.
The pride, hidden away from most outside contact, did have some strange customs. They worshiped their king, thought to be a deity. Each king was said to have strange and fantastic power. Those kings, as any corrupted leader would, used that to his advantage to brainwash the pride.
The last king before Faraji was Paki, a very old and very manipulative lion. He wanted an heir, so he choose a young lioness as his queen. But no matter how hard they tried, they could not conceive a cub. Paki even tried to conceive an heir with another lioness, but to no avail.
Talk of a miracle birth went around the pride, and Paki went to investigate. A lioness slightly younger than him had birthed a smaller-than-usual cub. What was unusual about him was that he had strange markings on his forehead and paws. When he asked where the sire was, the lioness told him how he was killed in a stampede.
Finding this a perfect opportunity to gain an heir, Paki offered to help raise the cub, calling him a miracle sent by the gods. Named Faraji, the cub was trained personally by Paki in the art of cloud-reading, wind-whispering, and other phony technique the king invented.
Faraji's first 'prediction' came when he prophesized that a great fire would occur. Of course, the signs were obvious that something bad would happen: the days were hotter than usual; rain rarely fell; flora began to whiter and dry up. All it took was one stray lightning bolt on a cloudy day to set the Grasslands ablaze. From that day forward, they called him the Prophet.
When Paki passed on, the pride named Faraji as king. He became so absorbed in the publicity that he actually believed that his predictions were true. Some didn't come to pass, which was a majority of the time, but no one thought anything of it.
Faraji proposed a plan to set out on a journey to help the rest of the lands with his prophesies. Leaving a week later, he left his pride. But would anyone believe a conspicuous charlatan?

roleplay example -Mana's green eyes surveyed her surroundings, making sure no one was following her. She knew she'd get in trouble for being out so late, but what she had to do was necessary. For her story, that is. She was bundled up in a warm blue shirt, black jeans, and gray Timberland boots. A black trench coat kept most of the cold away from her chest, along with a matching scarf around her neck. Her curled blonde hair bounced behind her as the wind started to pick up, blowing snow into her face.
She felt like a criminal, sneaking around in black, but the real reason she was so jumpy was because of her messenger bag. It was a bright pink with blue swirling designs, and a magic circle with runes decorated a majority of the front flap. It was even more visible with all the blinding white snow flying around.
Mana had to come out her to experience first-hand was a person from the medieval era would feel in the winter. Although she was in thick, modern clothing, the chill setting in her bones was enough to tell her that it was worse that what she felt at that current moment. Besides, she also wanted to see the field covered in snow to better describe something similar in her so-called “novel”.
She gasped when she saw a small light in the distance. After the split second it took her eyes to adjust, she realized it was fire. And that it was floating. Who would light something on fire? Better yet, who else would be out here this late? She quietly crept closer for a better look.
