quick description - Lithe but muscular, pretty, green eyes, tan and red fur
full description - Jiraa’s coat is a dark red hue, which is accented with a tan stripe on her forehead that extends all the way to her nose. She has three tan dots in a line under her right eye, with the largest being in the middle. The irises of her eyes are green in coloration, surrounding by the typical gold color that would be white in a human’s. Her stomach, tail tuft, and muzzle are all the same shade of tan as her eye dots and forehead stripe, along with the insides of her ear. Her nose is pink. She is an average sized lioness, with a lithe build. Don’t mistake her size though; she has a decent amount of muscle and is actually stronger than she looks. She looks very similar to a Pridelander and face wise is said to look like Princess Kiara. She is nicknamed "Red" because of the main color of her coat.
personality - Jiraa can be quite sarcastic, and sometimes hard to get along with. She can be laid back when she wants to, but you usually won’t find her sitting still for long periods of time. She adores her older twin, Batu, and would do anything for him. She’s also highly protective of him, and distrusts and despises any females that may approach him, until she deems them worthy that is. This is mainly because she’s afraid of losing him, since he’s all she has. However, it’s not just females attracted to her brother that make her fur stand on end; since the loss of their parents, she is suspicious of all unknown males, and is standoffish when it comes to meeting anyone new.
She’s a loyal member of her pride, and will fight to the death to protect it. She highly dislikes the Lowlanders, mainly because of how she was raised, but also because they contributed to her parent’s deaths. She isn’t afraid to voice her opinions to anyone, and never backs down from defending what she thinks is right. However, this does tend to get her into trouble, though it won’t be easy for anyone to get her to apologize. Even though she seems very bold, on the inside, she isn’t very sure of herself and where she fits into everything. She is very pretty, but doesn’t think so. However, she will still come off as the confident, outspoken Jiraa everyone either loves and hates.
history -Jiraa was born second to her twin brother, Batu. They grew up alongside the prince of the Highlands, Maliki, though she and her brother rarely hung out with him partly because of his high status and partly because they were always running off on their own adventures. She was a generally happy and outgoing cub, and made many friends growing up because she was “fun-loving Jiraa”. However, that changed with her parents’ death.
She and Batu were almost two, and were on a hunting trip with their parents and a few other lionesses. Of course, Batu was just along to watch-he wasn’t one for hunting, but Jiraa wanted to learn. As they approached a herd of water buffalo, two unknown males approached from the opposite side, lurking in the fog. As they drew closer, Jiraa noticed that these lions were outsiders-more specifically, Lowlanders. Her mother was just close enough to spring for a baby buffalo, when the males intentionally spooked the herd. Before she could warn her mother and the others, the buffalo turned and came running towards them.
Jiraa and Batu ran for cover, hiding in some thick brush to wait out the stampede. They watched in horror as the lionesses and their parents scattered in all directions. They waited until the fog cleared and the stampede had moved on, searching frantically for their parents. They found them in some long grass, their father lying protectively over their mother. But both bodies were lifeless, trampled under the thundering hooves of the water buffalo.
Jiraa didn’t take it well, and became suspicious of everyone and everything. There was no way that those males had gotten onto their land without being spotted or without help, she was sure of that. To hide her pain, she became sarcastic and wasn’t easy to get along with. Gaining her trust became hard, and she is much more aggressive than the passive Jiraa of her cub-hood. She began spending more time alone or with her brother, and only allows a few to see the pain behind her bold front.

roleplay example - It was early in the morning when they parents woke them and told them to prepare to leave with the hunting party. Jiraa stretched and yawned, then stood up, looking energized and ready to go. She had been waiting for this day for a long time, and finally it was here. She looked at Batu, who had rolled over so his back faced the rest of his family. Jiraa rolled her eyes and swatted him in the head. “Ow!” he yelled, jolting up and rubbing his head with his paw. Jiraa snickered. “Come on! We actually get to go with them today, and I don’t want to miss a thing!” Batu sighed, and stood up sleepily, following his sister out of the cave.
Like always, it was foggy at the hunting grounds, but it seemed thicker than usual this morning. Jiraa walked cautiously behind her father, sniffing the air and listening intently instead of relying on her sense of sight. Soon the party stopped, and from down the line Jiraa learned that a herd of water buffalo was ahead. What a feast that would be! Her father stepped back with Batu, since the two rarely hunted unless necessary. Flanking into position, Jiraa crept closer and closer, imitating her mother and the other lionesses carefully. She could sense the buffalo close, and it wouldn’t be long before she would be initiated into the ranks of the adult lionesses, if she was successful here. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw movement. She turned her head slowly, and as the fog thinned she noticed two unfamiliar males lurking in the fog as well. Little did she know, these two strangers would change her life forever.
