Nicknames: n/a Gender: Female Age: 3 Species: Lion Homeland: Vagabond Rank: n/a
Quick Description: Bright yellow and pure white coat, emerald green eyes, pink nose, black tail tuff. Full Description: Like most from her former pride Ankhese has an unusually bright coat of vibrate yellow, contrasting with a deep black tuft of fur on her tail. Her coat is smooth laying flat against her lean and slender form. The end of her muzzle, underbelly and tips of her paws are pure white, the bright colors making her almost blinding when the sun reflects from her body. Her emerald eyes rest above a pink nose, eyes also surrounded in white with a heavy black lining at the edge of her eye lifts fanning out in to a elegant curl off the otter corners of her eyes. There is a rather odd angle to her eyes not seen in most lions, another trait known only to her former pride.
Personality: Ankhese often seems strangely distant and awkward at first. She seems very unaccustom to meeting new people as if she'd been isolated for a good part of her life. Ankhese is very headstrong and like most adolescents believes she already knows everything. Despite her distance toward strangers Ankhese can be a very loving friend, willing to help someone in need. She has a soft spot for the week and younger who can not defend them self. She seems to have a strange dislike of Jackals and tends to avoid them, any other animal she seems willing to approach but doesn't seem to know what to do when coming face to face with them. Goals: Finding her brother discovering if the rest of her former pride is alive. Ankhese also seeks to avenge her parents if her brother hasn't already.
History: Ankhese was born to a King and Queen of a little known desert pride Akhena and Neferti. Her pride had been known for up hold very ancient traditions was said to even worship some very old gods. Her mother and father had earned the title of priest and priestess studying as adolescents in a well hidden temple where they learned along side other creatures of the desert who worshiped the same old gods.
During his time in the temple Akhena had formed a small rivalry and friendship with another young cub named Amenh. The two boys competed at everything, who was the best fighter, hunter, who did the best when they were quizzed in their studies. They even competed when it came to love. When Neferti, princess and heir to a desert pride showed up at the temple both adolescent males fell instantly and worked effortlessly to win her heart. In the end it was Akhena who won the princess over, much to Amenh's dismay.
As Akhena and Neferti's love grew so did Amenh's jealousy A deep hatred began to form for his former childhood friend until one day Amenh challenged Akhena, fighting with intent to kill his rival. It was Akhena who won in the end, though he could not bring him self to kill his former friend as Amenh had tried to do to him. Once their training was complete Akhena and Neferti returned to Neferti's pride to claim their new roles as King and Queen.
For many years they lived happily. Life was hard in the desert, of course, but their range included areas along the Nile river where lush jungles provided the food and water they needed. After a short time the Neferti gave birth to their son and first heir, Tut. When Tut was a young adolescent his sister Ankhses was born and for a short time the desert family lived peacefully.
Their happy pride, however, did not last too much longer, when Amenh tracked them down to challenge Akhena again. This time, however Amenh had an ambush of jackals he'd formed an alliance with waiting to help him kill Akhena. Sadly, this time, Amenh was successful. With their king defeated the pride now belonged to Amenh, however, the females refused to recognize Amenh as their new king and turned instead, to Neferti to lead them. Enraged by this rejection Amenh turned on the pride, and began to attack the females along with his jackals. Despite having numbers on their side the females could not match the male lion's strength and Neferti was killed in the battle. Before her death Neferti ordered her son, Tut, to take his sister and run, as far as possible, and not return until they were sent for. With their leaders dead and heirs missing the wounded and broken pride had no choice but to follow Amenh.
The adolescent Tut and cub Ankhese found them selves lost in the desert for countless days and nights. Fortunately living their Tut had learned how to survive but with out the pride keep them both alive was difficult. After a time he had no choice but to leave the desert and wonder the jungles and grasslands as rogues.
When Ankhese reached adolescents and learned to hunt efficiently enough to survive on her own Tut decided to return to the desert and challenge Amenh for the pride. Though Ankhese wanted to go with Tut insisted she stay behind, just in case he should fail. Her now adult brother promised to send for her once he'd reclaimed the pride. That was the last time Ankhese saw her last family member.
Author Alias: Shan RP Experience:13 years? How You Found Us: Proboards Support page. RP Sample:Ankhese crouched down low, her underbelly nearly touching the ground. The grass was already taller then she was, standing like thin little towers around her as she crept forward, careful not to step on anything that would make noise. Her brightly colored fur worked well to hide against the sun on the blinding white sands of the desert, but made it difficult to hide in the dull grass. Fortunately her brother had taught her well, she could hunt and survive in most any terrain He'd even showed her how to scavenge if need be.
Despite all the knowledge he'd left her, however, she still missed him. It had been several months sense Tut had left to try and reclaim their pride, and Ankhese was beginning to worry. Though she tired to have faith in her brother she feared the worse, and had thought several times to go after him. It was the dry season, however, the worst time to cross the desert. Perhaps when the rains came she'd leave these grass lands to go find him.
Her pink nose sniffed at the air, inching ever closer to her prey, a young gazelle It was a small meal at best, but an easy one. It was usually better to eat a few small meals then risk the energy to take down a bigger animal she might not have been able to kill on her own. Her black claws dug in to the ground out of white tipped paws. Rippling muscles tightened under her skin as her body tensed. In one lightening fast blur her muscles released, sending her bright form through the air and down on to the gazelle In an instant, the hunt was over.
