quick description - A golden lioness with rusty red eyes and a tan underbelly and paws with a brown tail tuft.
full description - Kiara is a beautiful lioness, but not what would be considered elegant. Her body structure is different from Nala's, a bit more muscular and her ears a bit bulkier, like other parts of her body. Her eyes are shaped somewhat like her mothers, with Simba's wide mischief and adventerous soul in them. She got her eyes from Simba, her father, and are roughly the same shape as Simba's, with her eyelids the same coloring yet her eyelids are more shaped like her mothers. She has a broad nose, though not as broad as her fathers, but broader then Nala's. She has more of the rough edge tom boy look rather then the elegant look Nala had as a teenager. Unlike Nala, she has the cuteness appeal, but like Nala she has the same mystery in her eyes, with a lot more worry hovering behind those glassy red eyes. Adventure gleams in her eyes, as do the unspoken thoughts that she conceals about things. Yet an innocence still resides in her wide eyes, like many of the youth will have. She has no scars as of yet, but she does have a clumsiness about her which may get her hurt in the future. She is young, and this may pass with time, but between now and then it may cause more harm then good.
personality - Her very demeanor is mischievous and a bit mysterious and somehow innocent. An example of this was inviting Kovu to "show her how its done" in the hunting area. She planned to do something, perhaps to impress him or perhaps to make a fool of him. Yet somehow the innocence is mistook for cuteness, the mysterious look mistaken for a "bad girl" look. She is pretty smart, when she wants to be. Though sometimes her mind is clouded by what she wants rather then what she needs, and she'll often strive for what she wants more then what she needs. That being said, she often is the peace maker in the family, or at least so she tries to be. But recent events have changed that, and she is struggling to maintain the peace. Her mischievous personality cannot get past her mother and father, for she figures they know all too well about her by now. But more and more she has to bite her tongue, since Kovu's banning.. How long will that last-- only Kiara herself knows. She has plenty of confidence, perhaps more then she should have. Sometimes this can and probably will get her into trouble, though.
She is also spoiled, and adventerous.. There is never a dull moment when she is around for she thinks she can do what she wants and get away with it, and only time will tell if she learns otherwise. She loves to go on dangerous games such as chasing the buzzards that ran her into rhinos, and other dangerous activities like this. This does not faze her in the least, she actually enjoys the thrill to a point. All this is part of Kiara, and makes her who she is today.
history - Life started for the cub before she was born, so to speak. To get to what happened leading to her birth, we must go to her parents past.. And her would-be sibling. It happened as a surprise the night that Nala and Simba fell in love, and unknown yet... Nala was pregnant. But shortly after Scar abnd Simba had been in the fight, and Simba had told what he thought to be the truth. That he had killed Mufasa. What was going through Nala's head no one knows. But then, Scar screamed that he killed Mufasa. And then Simba through him off a cliff.. And soon Scar had been killed by the hyenas. Afterwards, Simba took the throne. It rained and soon the new day had come. Nala told Simba that she was pregnant. The sun set and rose on the pridelands and the pregnancy went well. A son was born. Kopa, the youth that was him and his adventerous attitude. But meanwhile, Zira caused trouble. She told Simba that she would get revenge, and the other outlanders that had joined the pride since Scars reign became threatening. Simba banned those who threatened them, and went off with Nala one day to hunt. Kopa wandered off and Zira found him, for she had been waiting for the cub to be alone for some time. The death of the prince was devastating.
And so Kiara came into thoughts, and this is how. Nala and Simba had discussed it and wanted another cub. They did not expect to get pregnant right away, but one day.. It happened. And it was a very happy moment for the two of them, for she was an unexpected surprise... And her birth relieved some of the pain of Nala and Simba losing Kopa. Of course, this was more of a subconcious thought then anything else, and they loved her just the same.. But.. To a point it was out of sorrow and pain that they decided to have a baby, after much consideration. They did not think they would get pregnant again for a long time, so they.. well, you can guess this part; they fooled around a while without trying to have a cub. And then Nala found out that she was ill, and it turned out she was pregnant.
Soon Nala grew to love her more and more as she grew inside her belly, perhaps more so because she was determined not to lose this one too. She cried constantly, wishing Kopa was still here. A girl as she was born.. A different kind of birth altogether, a bitter sweet moment.. And so Kiara was born. As Kiara was a cub she wandered off to the Pridelands and met Kovu. Kovu appealed to her.. Her mysterious ways tried to scare him and act tough, but she thought she saw something in him that was different. They fought crocodiles, and Kovu practically saved her life from the beasts. He pulled her up onto the bank, for some reason helping her. It was at that point that Kiara decided that she should cozy up to him. In a mysterious, innocent way she introduced herself as Kiara, prancing around him and pretending to play tag. Deep in her mind she was trying to get closer to him, to be friends for now..
Then Simba and the two prides met.. Kiara was scared, and she was taken away. Simba gave her a lecture about being one, which she did not understand. He tried to show her, but Kiara did not understand still.
Then one day she met Kovu again, secretly.. This time she had grown, and had decided that it was time she try and see Kovu.. She danced around him, she tried to win his heart. He was cold, different.. Hiding something.. She acted as her mysterious self, as if hiding her own guilt and pain about leaving him last time. As if something had happened to her since then.
And she told him that daddy had been more strict.. That he had been lieing to her. Kovu comforted her, and Simba found them together. Kiara was again pulled away.. A few weeks later, on her first hunt, she saw a fire and tried to run. As she was passing out she thought she saw Kovu... And when she woke up she was informed she was in the pridelands. Mainly she was mad because she did not want to be with her dad. And sure enough, Simba showed up... But he reluctantly let Kouv join the pride. For now. And so Kiaras' anger was subdued, though growing inside her at her fathers attitude and demeanor towards Kovu.
Then time went on and Kiara's love grew for Kovu. Yet Simba refused to accept the outlanders as anything more then enemies. She bonded more and more, yet Simba had yet to trust him. Kiara knew that she should obey her daddy, but she wanted to be with Kovu, and to impress him. What he felt about her was important. Then Simba and Kovu went on a hunt, and as they left Kovu seemed upset.. When Simba came back, he was physically hurt. He recovered and soon Kovu came back and Simba banished him, hurting Kiara more then anyone. She ran away, to find Kovu. At first she had every intention of running away with him.. To be with him and never see or speak to her dad, pride, mother, or anyone else she knew ever again. She felt incredible anger, pain, and confusion. Finally, when he said that "we are one."-- something clicked. Kiara realized that her dad did love her.. Yet the pain did not go away.. But, she realized that she had to stop this whole rivalry.
Finally, when she told Simba that they all were one, he seemed to understand. Zira fell to her death, and Kovu had a rough time afterwards. He felt that it was his fault, and argued with Kiara. Kiara cried, yet she knew Kovu did not mean it. Kovu blamed her, and it hurt Kiara deeply. Then Kovu left for a while, to come back a few days later and apologize. Kiara had been heartbroken, but she grew to accept the fact that he was grieving. Yet still in the back of her mind she wondered if it really was her fault. With advice from Zazu, of course. Soon all was well in the Pridelands, but Kiara still tries to accept the fact that Zira's death was not her nor Kovu's fault. Meanwhile Kiaras anger and pain still resides within her for Simba banishing Kovu, her love not quite the same for him being so quick to judge the one she loves.
