JAMALA
Nicknames: Jam, Jama Gender: Female Age: Cub, nearing pre-teen. (9 - 10 months?) Species: African Lion Homeland: Pridelands Rank: Cub/Wallflower
Quick Description: A small creamy-tan cub with light blue eyes and diluted red hair tufts. Full Description: Jamala is a small cub. She has round, delicate features and big light blue eyes. She has a light creamy tan coat with a lighter underbelly. Her toes of her front paws are the same color and so are her back legs up to her hocks. She has a pale face and light ears. Her tail tuft is a diluted red color, and when paired with sun bleaching, appears pink. Jamala has fur tufts around all of her ankles and on her chest in a v-shaped patch. It's something she's always been a little self-conscious about, since only boys get manes. All this extra fur insthe same diluted red-pink color as her tail brush. She also has fur tufts on the tips of her ears - think Malka. She has very faint pinkish spots underneath her eyes that will darken as she ages. Even though she is still so young, it is evident that Jamala is a very beautiful lioness. She will remain small throughout her life and will always have small, dainty features. This means that while she will never be the one to take down a wildabeast, she is quick enough to catch hairs or even baby antelope.
Personality: Jamala is a very sweet and kind hearted cub, albeit a bit shy. She's getting older now and sometimes doesn't know exactly what to do about it. Her body is changing and she’s expected to start taking on more responsibilities. So she can be a little awkward, but most of the time it is endearing. She has the potential to be very sassy and headstrong, but she won't grow into that until she's more comfortable in her own skin. But for now she steers clear of situations that could make her uncomfortable – so that means BOYS! While she does have a genuine interest in the opposite sex, she is aware that there is something different about the two although she cannot yet describe how she feels. So for now she just ignores them. Jamala is a genuinely good lioness and tries her best to see the best in people - sometimes she tries too hard in the wrong people. That being said, Jamala is young and quite naive.
Goals: She doesn't have many goals right now. First and foremost on her mind would be growing up, and then maybe gaining a friend or two...
History: Jamala was born to a lioness in the Pridelands. Her mother was a generally amiable, but in all reality, stupid lioness. Jamala’s father was an Outsider that skulked on the borders, though she didn’t mention to anyone Jamala’s parentage. Jamala’s mother was still quite young when she got knocked up, but she did alright as a mother. It just seemed at times that she cared a little too much about gossiping. Jamala didn't have any siblings to speak of and was born in an unusual season so there were not really any other cubs her age to play with. They were all either older or younger, so most of the time she went off and played by herself. She is very imaginative because of that.
Author Alias: Birdbrain RP Experience: Ahh six years on and off? Can't quite remember. How You Found Us: Affiliates with another site. RP Sample: It wasn't ideal, but it would do for now. Moth padded to the banks of the river and dipped her head low, taking deep, long gulps of water. She needed it. After days of traveling in dry, arid landscapes that were not suited for any member of her species or anyone having a coat even a fraction as thick as hers; her throat was raw and grainy. The water washed away the pain in cold, crisp waves and Moth didn't stop drinking until her belly felt tight and swollen. She lifted her head, licking the last few drops from her whiskers and looked around.
It had taken her a few hellish days to get to a place that seemed at least a bit cooler. Somehow the snow leopard had found herself lost in a vast, open scrub-land with little prey and less water. The sun baked down on her relentlessly and there was no shelter, nothing but flat, open sand. Moth's stomach made an unpleasant lurch. She hadn't eaten in the time that she spent in the desert. The prey that she had come across was fast, and she was not suited for chasing down prey. The only way she had learned how to hunt utilized the uneven, rocky terrain that she had grown up in. She needed to ambush if she wanted to eat, and there wasn't any cover in the desert. Moth ducked her head, taking a few more gulps of water. It wasn't food, but maybe it would help her forget her hunger for a little while.
With a quiet sigh, Moth waded a few feet into the river, letting the cool current sooth the blisters on her paw pads. She was completely unaware of her company that was perched not but a few meters away...
