TAO
Tao's vivid, apparent purple eyes widened in shock as did his mouth in a grimace as Nala lunged towards him in a fiery rage. Digging his black claws into the soft earth he tried abruptly scurrying away from her in terror, only to falter and be pinned to the ground by her large mass. Why am I being attacked? Why me? Why must I always be treated horridly.. almost everywhere I go.. Maybe I'll just be finished off here, his thoughts rushed around in his mind.
His small golden figure cowered underneath her, wincing with each pound of her raging claws over his fur. "Please please please please please please..." he pleaded in a tone of bitter helplessness. His eyes were clenched tight as a few tears trickled over his cheeks and into his red mane. Instead of fighting back at all he only shamefully turned his body over in the dirt to lay on his side as he covered his eyes with his paws. Regret filled him deeply and he wished he had never intervened.

Kopa's eyes grew wide seeing Nala attack the newcomer. He mentally debated whether she was doing him a favor or not; on one hand it did keep the young lion occupied and thus he and Simba were able to return to their fight that was so rudely interrupted. At the same time if this lion knew his true identity, then he was far too close for comfort to the Pridelands queen at the moment. He was irritated and that was obvious on his face as he maintained his powerful stance. His eyes shifted from Simba to Nala and the newcomer occasionally, lingering on the duo when the male lion was pinned.
That would have been his cue to intervene, but would also mean turning his back on the king which wasn't going to happen. If there was anyone that was going to be caught off guard it wouldn't be him. "Not that it's any of your business, but no, I don't know him. Apparently today is the day everyone's choosing to trespass, including yourself. So, if you were thinking that I planned for him to intervene to give myself the upper hand in some way, you're wrong. I don't need anyone's help to best you fat-..."
His words trailed off abruptly when he realized what he almost said and growling instead his body tensed. An attack was imminent, that much was obvious from his posture. Hearing the young lion's voice however, and the fact that Nala's roar was no longer being heard when he launched his body to attack Simba was no longer the target...

----------------------------------------- NALA -----------------------------------------
As a huntress seeing fear in her prey's eyes when they realized that it was the end, it was a humbling feeling for her personally. It was the way of the Circle of Life. The few times she clashed with other lions, jaguars and the like, the look in their eyes weren't of fear. She could see the pride in their eyes as they fought to maintain their reputation and likewise they could see the pride in hers as she fought for her Pride and to reinforce her reputation. That wasn't the situation here.
She had the young lion pinned beneath her muscular frame with little effort and even more surprising was the fact that he was not putting up a fight. His erratic heart beat, the tears, his plea, all of it had the lioness releasing him from beneath her claws. He intervened and then mentioned their lost son's name to instigate a second fight, didn't he? Looking at the lion that was now laying on his side and wishing he could disappear from the looks of it, Nala gently touched his paw with hers. "Hey...I'm not going to hurt you."
Ready to reassure him the moment he uncovered his eyes, she wasn't ready to be attacked by their original opponent. Roaring loudly as his body impacted hers to force her off the young lion, they rolled on the ground briefly before she pinned him using all of her strength to keep him that way. Both of them had their canines clenched, barely stifling the growls still managing to escape. "Why are you attacking us? Who are you?!"
